Ford 2.3 SOHC

Oil Pan Zipper Kit (E)

Ø Remove oil pan.

Ø Clean off oil pan gasket surface on block.

Ø Locate a blind pan bolt hole. *

Ø Use blue Loctite on the threads going into the block.

Ø Install a stud using a 3mm allen wrench.

Ø Run it down till it bottoms in the hole.

Ø Use this to set the depth of the other studs.

Ø Install other studs with blue Loctite.

Ø Install 4 studs near crankshaft w/ 4mm allen wrench.

Ø Wipe off any excess Loctite.

Oil Pan installation;

Cork / Rubber gasket;

Ø Clean oil pan gasket surface.

Ø Install gasket and oil pan.

Ø Install nuts (NO Loctite) and torque to 4 - 6 Lb/Ft

Ø Torque the 4 larger nuts to 8-10 Lb/Ft

Cork gasket;

Ø Clean oil pan gasket surface.

Ø Install gasket onto block.

Ø Install oil pan.

Ø Install nuts (NO Loctite) and torque to 4 - 6 Lb/Ft

* Note; Some bolt holes are not drilled and tapped all the way thru.
